So, you heard about regular people making it big online and you begin to follow your quest to build and run a successful online business.
You purchase every single product out there to learn about online marketing.
It gets overwhelming and you slowly start to drift away from your dreams of running an online business because you feel stuck and don’t know where and who to turn to.
You’re running out of patience, time and also money.
Sounds familiar? Yes, it can get frustrating. I know.
After many years of teaching others how to start and grow their online business, one big problem occurs amongst those who are struggling.
The problem is they are working on TOO MANY things at one time. They lack focus. As a result, they see no or only little progress.
Want to know the secret?
Instead of spreading your focus on multiple projects, focus 100% on just one. That’s it.
There’s really no magic pill to riches.
If you’re putting 10% of your energy to Project A, 20% on Project B, 50% on another and the remainder another project, you’ll eventually get it done BUT you’ll complete them very slowly.
The aim of getting more done is to build momentum. Momentum helps you see progress as you go along.
Think of a challenge like running a marathon. You start at the start line. You then see you’ve reached the quarter mark. You’re pumped. You want to push further and keep on going. You’re progressing.
That’s the exact result of building momentum. It helps you keep going.
Use momentum to your advantage with your projects. One trick is to chunk large tasks into smaller chunks to make it a lot more achievable.
Too many times I see beginners with so many ideas that they don’t even know where to start. “Should I do this, this or this first? Hmmm…”
You don’t want to be in this position where you feel like you have so many ideas that you don’t end up doing any.
Prioritize by brainstorming which of your ideas is going to be the easiest and quickest to implement first. You’ll also want to take profitability into account i.e . – the potential of it making money.
Just because an idea sounds like it’s the next best thing, it’s not always a good idea to stick to it. Having too many ideas on your list will most likely drain you in the end because you’re thinking “How am I ever going to get all this done?”.
What if you simply just had that ONE project to do? How much clearer would you be able to think? It will make it look more feasible and easier to accomplish.
Again, to summarize:
You want to make money or more money this year? Simplify and focus on one project.

Agree 100% its all about focus and building momentum. Cut projects that don’t seem to work instead of hanging on. I am very guilty of this myself
Hi Colin,
I can totally understand that it can be hard to let go of a beloved project and completely cut it… it took myself the longest time to let go of just some of my older products that I eventually finally discontinued.
And as long as a project does generate an income… even if it’s just a little, it’s ok to keep it as long as it doesn’t take up a lot of time for customer support.
HI, Frank.
Good blog article. It poses an interesting question. For the purposes of clarity and fair notice, I am a professional success coach who specializes in helping new internet marketers and work-from-home business opportunity seekers to “visualize and realize their success…as they define it.” To that end, your excellent post and accurate advice lead me to ask you a question that so many have asked me. Presuming accurate knowledge of the industry on my part, the question is:
“Which ONE?”
I don’t believe there is one single, simple answer to that question, given the diversity of both opportunities and students. While I agree that mastering any one of the possibilities can help a new student create positive income over time, some students will and some students won’t feel comfortable in one or another possible opportunity. I have not found “one” that will guarantee anything–nor, I submit, should any one do so. I am presupposing (perhaps erroneously–if so, please forgive me) that your preferred “one” is affiliate marketing. Yet, affiliate marketing has some pretty specific attributes, many of which can lead to failing online.
So, if there were only one “one” you could approve for a new marketer, which one would it be? Why? I ask from intense faith in your expertise and experience, your sense of integrity, and my desire to be better at my craft: education.
I do look forward to your response. I’ll see you Tuesday night.
To YOUR Success!

Hi Bud,
With “Focus on one thing at a time”… I was referring to one project at the time.
This can be a project create a product you want to sell, it can be a project to improve or update a product you are already selling or it can be a any other kind of project.
Promoting affiliate programs or income opportunities online is an easy way to earn some money without having to first create your own product to sell, but for long term success I would recommend to focus on getting your own products or services offered online.
I personally focus mainly on building or improving my own products and services… and do affiliate marking only secondarily.
I understood I was joining for $7, not $47. Did I read it incorrectly? My PayPal account was charged $47. How can I get a refund? I don’t even understand how your program works.
Hi Karran,
Can you please open a helpdesk ticket in that regard at Reply2Frank.com and mention in it…
a) Which program / site did you join?
b) How did you pay for it? (Your PayPal or PayZa email address used to pay)
Thanks. 🙂
Right you are. I think I’m beginning to suffer from this already and only about 3 days into it. Good advise. Thanks for taking time to share this with us. Best Always Roy Schroll
Hang in there Roy, once you are aware of it you can avoid it. 🙂
