Here you are going to learn how to increase your traffic by simple backlinking.  How do you do it?  Simple, you are leaving your website address on other websites that are going to send traffic back your direction.  There are a few tips that will get you started and I will list them here.

First let’s give you a clear definition of what “backlinks” are according to the US Dictionary; …[Backlinks (or back-links (UK)) are incoming links to a website or web page. The number of backlinks is an indication of the popularity or importance of that website or page. In basic link terminology, a backlink is any link received by a web node (web page, directory, website, or top level domain) from another web node (Björneborn and Ingwersen, 2004). Backlinks are also known as incoming links, inbound links, inlinks, and inward links.]

The more quality links you have leading to your website, the higher your page will rank in the search engines which is the way to get to the top of SEO.

Gail mentioned something that makes a lot of sense… always have a URL shown in any video that you submit to YouTube.com as well as mention a URL starting with http:// in the video description.

So far not really new… but she mentioned that YouTube now allows you to edit and add subtitles (e.g. the URL) after uploading a video to it.  That’s cool as I had a while ago uploaded some without the URL, and this allows to add them later without having to re-upload a modified video version.

Also, to be able to upload more video, make sure you choose “Director” as your YouTube channel type.

Another nice tip I picked up from her is not only answer other peoples questions in Yahoo! Answers for quality backlinks (in your signature), but to build ebooks based on questions found there.

Shawn was an very entertaining speaker that had some great tips to share as well…

Here is what I picked up from him:

1. Don’t just try getting traffic… Get highly responsive and targeted traffic with commercial intend!

2. Write your newsletter for the 2-3% of the visitors that purchase (speak directly to them).

3. Let somebody read your sales letter out aloud to you (or at least read it yourself aloud) to be able to pick up better on problems in the sales letter ad copy.

4. A sales letter should feel personalized and like it’s spoken directly to the reader.

5. A cool way to not only create a product in 6 hours and have traffic generating materials at the same time:  Do a 6 expert interview series… each plugging the product of one person that you interview (your affiliate link)… that way, sharing revenue… each interviewed person inviting their list to register for the calls (building your list).  Then use the transcribed versions of the interviews as articles in article directories get backlinks and traffic.

6. When you invite specialists on a topic for an interview, write them… “I am quiet intrigued on your take on XYZ.  I would love to an interview with you.  I promise, it won’t be a lame question and answer interview. It will be a dynamic experience you and I will remember quiet some time.”

7. During the interview, use questions like… “How did that make you feel?  Earlier you said XYZ. What did you mean by that?  How did you do that?”

The next speakers were Dr. Mike & Brian.  They had a create tip on what keywords to target… those that target buyers close to the end of the buying cycle.

Also, their tip for the free SRDS directory at NextMark.com was interesting.

I was able to catch Dr. Mike in the hallway…

Just last night I received an quite interesting message via Skype… somebody told me that Message Magic (formerly called “Skype Assist”) will launch on July 15th, just a few days from now, with a plug-in for the Skype IM tool that millions of people use right now around the globe.

Before I share with you what exactly it does… here my little rant about this tool that is promoted as a marketing tool from heaven, that in my opinion could turn into a marketing tool from hell if… well, if users don’t remember the famous line from the first Spiderman blockbuster movie:  With great power comes great responsibility!

Here is why…

Message Magic allows it’s users to search the Skype user database for keywords of your choice and then auto invite those Skype members to become your Skype contact.  So far this is not really something that could be abused as as a Skype member you can always reject this invites from people you don’t know… or just kick them out if they bother you too much.

The other feature of Message Magic gives much more room for abuse… you will be able to send a message to all your Skype contacts at once with the click of a button.

Even though this feature can be useful if you practice the light side of the force by sharing free, valuable information with your Skype contacts, but it can also turn into a nightmare for your Skype contacts if you are into the dark side of the force = spamming!

If too many dark side users start using Message Magic, I even believe that Skype might somehow make the use of Message Magic impossible and for sure delete the Skype accounts of Message Magic abusers.

So, if you want to take advantage of the heavenly power of Message Magic, by all means… do so. But if you have plans to turn the use of Skype into hell on earth by spamming your contacts with offer after offer using Message Magic… please, do us all a favor and crawl back under the rock that you belong! 

Back to the Message Magic tool… one first impression I got on their site was that they could definitely benefit by hiring a professional graphic artist and copy writer.    Also, the tool itself could use some improvements, but I guess it’s not quiet fair to judge them on that before launch as this is just version 1.08 and that shows they are working on improving it.

BTW… did you come to this blog post because of a Skype message you got from me?  Chances are that message was send using Message Magic… in a heavenly way!

To have a successful Internet Marketing business, you first need to have visitors to your site, and there are several ways to do this, however, this post is going to focus on one particular area.

There are an unlimited number of online forums and Internet communities that are based around varied interests and niches.  The key is to find one that is centered around your particular niche.

When you become part of an Internet Forum, you can become a local forum expert in your niche, which will magically boost your sales and build an astounding amount of traffic to your site.  You have to be careful though, these forums do not look kindly on advertising, so you have to make you are there providing valuable comments and good content, therefore, creating a soft sell, less conspicuous.

On most online communities and forums, you are able to create your profile which will include your signature.  Each time you post a comment, your signature will be included along with a link to your website.  Become familiar however, with the forum before you begin to post, read what others are saying and doing, familiarize yourself with the forum rules, and be sure to abide by them to keep yourself from being banned… which will undo all you are working for.

Forum Tips:

1. Make your signature brief, but powerful.  Offer something of value, such as an e-course or an ebook or report.  It is important that this is located in your signature and never in your comment or post.  Keep it simple, short and to the point.  If you have a free report or ebook, make the title a live link.

2. As you are reading the forums, what kind of questions are asked, what are the topics focused around?  Post one of your articles that answer some of these questions, give tips, techniques, and other useful information that the members will benefit from immediately.  By doing this, you are showing that you are an expert in this area, and you will be sought after for more information and answers… then they will seek out your website for even more answers.

Also, your name will be shown as someone who starts the topic threads, and your topic will soon be at the top, again, showing you as the forum expert.  This a great way to advertise.  If you were to start a new topic each week, by the end of the year, you will have 52 expert articles on the forum with your name, your link and a growing reputation.

3. Private messaging is another form of communication that you should take advantage of.  As you are sending messages to others, you will include your link to your website or direct them to your site in some way.  You can’t push your website, but it can be recommended by others.

You will develop a community feel inside these forums, and as you become a part of the community, you will begin to reap the benefits.  You also get a great feel of your audience and what type of solutions and products they are looking for and become their source of information to solve those problems.

So, as you use this strategy, you will bring in new readers on a daily basis and have a huge referral base that is ever growing.  Begin checking out the many online communities and forums on the Internet… you will be amazed at how many there are.  Have fun and enjoy your success.
